Which filter UV or Skylight?In the past always fitted Skylight on lens purley for protection.Any views? Ta Idea

I'd go with UV as they don't alter the colour, as I believe skylight filters can give a slight warm tint, which isn't so bad unless you're wanting a cold blueish tint to your photo's which can be used in landscapes to give a better effect and show the winter weather.

But as I said it's slight so it can be corrected in PP to make it look colder.

I personally always have a UV filter on my camera. UV Filters protect the lenses. You can have more than one lens on the camera at the same time, so why not use both? Laughing

Other than a plain glass protection filter on my wide zoom, to protect the somewhat projecting objective, I don't use filters. I want the absolute best from my lenses and don't want anything degrading the image.

I'm now going to contradict my previous statement, I've added a UV filter to my lenses, why? because I've just been on a boat trip and didn't want salt water on the front element, it was quite splashy, but most enjoyable.
