A nice set there Skylark. I am not too sure about the first two images. In my oponion, there needs to be something in the foreground as a point of interest. Plain hills just don't do it for me Im afraid

I think I am gonna move you to the Intermediate Photographer Group, your images are of a good quality, but not advanced level im afraid. Smile

Great photo's Skylark, esp the last 3. The photo's with the fence post shadows and the trees are brill.

Just as a matter of interest I'm fasinated with Dartmoor. I've walked it from South to North over a couple of days. Bashered up at Holming Beam near Princetown over night and the up past Cranmere Pool the following day via Yes Tor and Higher Willhays before desending down to Okehampton Camp. I usually go down to Dartmoor at least once a year and do a circuit in the car, stopping off at Okehampton, Tavi, then go up to where Plasterdown Camp was situated but its gone now. From there to Princetown for lunch in the Old Police Station before going back through Clapperbridge to Bovey Tracy.

Great place is Dartmoor.

Yogi.

Here's one of my Dartmoor photo's. It's Yes Tor and Higher Willhays with Okehampton Camp.

This was taken just down from Okehampton Camp looking out towards the market town of Okehampton. It's a steep climb up to the camp even in a car, and it feels even steeper after a night down in the town with a lock-in, believe me I know. The cross you see in the forground is not a burial ground but its what the monks used many years ago for navigation. There's a book out on all these crosses and their locations.

Another of the Camp and Higher Willhays, which is Dartmoors highest point.

No guess as to where this could be on Dartmoor then. Once known as one of the worst Prisons in the Uk now only houses Cat B prisioners.

Just down the road from here at Merrivale is a small quarry, its here where the granite was quarried for the HM Forces memorial stone to those who died in the Falklands and stands in Port Stanley.

Well strangely enough flash I did not care to be in any photographer group but I'd like to point out that I in fact have a MA in Fine Art which included photography, film & installation & my tutor at the Creative College of Art in Canterbury would be a little perplexed over my 'intermediate' status on this very forum! lol

I actually find it demeaning to have someone like yourself tell me what my photography skills are or are not, you do not have the right or the authority & also Jamie this is only your personal opinion not others.
